The Blur that was Zaragoza

  • Apr. 22nd, 2007 at 7:41 PM

Well that's another week over & done with.  Wednesday was probably the highlight with a visit to GM Spain's plant in Zaragoza.
It was a work organised jolly.  I had been told that we would be leaving promptly at 8am from Sants Train station and I HAD to be there by 7:30am.  As usual I was early and to my surprise there were only a few others there!  8am came and went.  We all got on the coach only to be told that they needed to do a head count and so everyone had to disembark.  Organisational skills are not essential!  We finally left Sants about 8:30!  We arrived at Zaragoza at about 1:30.  We were an an hour late.  Not bad from a Spanish point of view.  We were wizzed on to a wee trolley train and told under NO UNCERTAIN TERMS were we allowed to take photos.  This was a bit of a bummer as I have just brought a new super-duper digital camera and was wanting to try it out.   So we were wisked arrounf the plant with explanations in Spanish.  It was kinda like the citroen picasso ad but on a much larger scale.  They did 3 types of cars/vans one being the Corsa. So if your'e buying a corsa it  was probably built in Spain!

Once the tour was finished and a quick toilet stop we were back on the bus heading for Zaragoza.  After getting lost we eventually got to the main tourist spot and told we had 1 hour.  This really was not enough and couldn't really go off wandering very far so I grabbed a beer and a pizza in yes you guessed an Irish bar! How predictable am I!  Managed to take some photos. The thing about having a new fancy camera is you forget how to use it.  You have so many styles that you could use to make that perfect shot it took me ages to remember how to work the damm thing!

An hour later and we were all back on the bus back to Barcelona!
